Our appellations

Chasselas

Pouilly-sur-Loire

The Pouilly-sur-Loire AOC, locally known by its grape variety name CHASSELAS, overlaps with the Pouilly-Fumé production area.

At the origin of the local wine-making tradition, and still predominant in the 1940s and 1950s, its production has declined in favour of the famous Pouilly-Fumé.

Today, total production is carried out on around twenty hectares, nearly half of which is vinified by us.

This very accessible, light wine, with its delicate aromas of fresh hazelnuts, has long been a favourite in Parisian restaurants, bars and brasseries. Even today, most of our sales are in the Île-de-France region.

This appellation is becoming rare, so we are redoubling our efforts to keep it alive.

Sauvignon

Pouilly-Fumé

A Controlled Designation of Origin since 1937, Pouilly-Fumé (also known as “Blanc fumé de Pouilly”) is the historic heart of our production and our main area of expertise.

With a production of around 100 hectares, some of which we own, our cooperative remains one of the main producers of this rare appellation, if not the main one.

The great diversity of our terroirs (sand, limestone, marl and flint) allows us to offer a very wide choice of vintages.

Made exclusively from the SAUVIGNON grape variety, whose origins are lost in the history of the Centre-Loire region, the ancestral reputation of this appellation has been boosted by its success abroad and its proximity to the legendary Nationale 7 motorway.

Pinot Noir – Gamay – Sauvignon

Coteaux du Giennois

The Coteaux du Giennois vineyard is located on the right bank of the Loire River, between Gien and Cosne-sur-Loire.

Historically, the wines produced were reds made from Pinot Noir and Gamay grapes.

In recent years, white wines made exclusively from Sauvignon grapes have been gaining ground and are now on a par with the reds.

Since the early 1970s, our cooperative has been involved in the vinification and sale of these wines.

Since the 1997 vintage, these red, white and rosé wines have been recognised as Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC).
