Sauvignon
Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC) since 1937, Pouilly-Fumé (also known as “Blanc fumé de Pouilly”) constitutes the historic core of our production, and our main area of expertise.
Our cooperative remains one of the main winemakers of this rare appellation, with a production of around one hundred hectares, some of which we own.
The great diversity of our terroirs (sand, limestone, marl and flint) allows us to offer a very wide choice of cuvées.
Made exclusively from the SAUVIGNON grape, a variety inextricably blended with the history of the Centre-Loire region, this appellation’s ancestral reputation has been boosted by its international success and by its proximity to the legendary Nationale 7 road.
Chasselas
The Pouilly-sur-Loire AOC, known locally for its CHASSELAS grape variety, is produced in the same area as Pouilly-Fumé.
This appellation is at the origin of the local wine-making tradition, and was still dominant in the 40s and 50s. Nowadays, its production has diminished, to the famous Pouilly-Fumé’s advantage. Its total production comes currently from around twenty hectares, almost half of them vinified by our Cooperative.
This very accessible, light wine, with its fine aromas of fresh hazelnuts, has long been the delight of Parisian restaurants, bars and brasseries. Even today, most of our production goes to the Île de France region.
Being an appellation that’s becoming increasingly rare, we are redoubling our efforts to preserve its existence.
Pinot Noir – Gamay – Sauvignon
The Coteaux du Giennois vineyards are located on the right bank of the Loire, between Gien and Cosne-sur-Loire.
Historically, it produced red wines, made from PINOT NOIR and GAMAY.
For several years, white wines made from the SAUVIGNON grape variety alone have been gaining ground and are now on a par with the reds.
Our cooperative has been involved in the vinification and sale of these wines since the early 1970s.
Since the 1997 vintage, these red, white and rosé wines have been recognised as Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée wines.
